The Abiders

take a ride!

In remembrance

Andy Dee (1961-2024)

Andy Dee was one of the finest lapsteel and guitar players around. He was and always will be 100% Abider. Andy played on, mixed and mastered The Abiders debut album “Designated Rider” and gave us “street cred” as an emerging group. He was incredibly giving of his talents and advice as we navigated the music world. We lost him to a neurological disease on February 5th, one day after his 63rd birthday. Andy was an esteemed and sought-after player. He was a Warner Brothers recording artist with Molly and the Heymakers and self-released his masterpiece “Sweet Soul Sewage”. He went on to play with countless artists, locally, nationally and internationally, and his diverse musical abilities made him invaluable as a performer and studio musician. Andy was also generous with his talents, sharing with and mentoring fellow musicians, resulting in lifelong friendships. His off-the-wall sense of humor made him lots of fun to have around. Andy's influence in all aspects extends far and wide and lives on through his fellow musicians. Andy was also one of the sweetest guys with a deep love for the environment, his family, and a peaceful world. He was brother to Julie and Scott. We’ll forever miss him and feel his love and presence on stage, in the studio and in our hearts.
